Pining for Pine Season

This morning is pick up day for MonkeySee's Sophomore year. MonkeyDo are waiting while MonkeySee runs around campus turning in paperwork, buying his planner, getting his schedule, books & photo taken.

I'm kind of surprised by the number of kids I see being escorted by moms. Really? I handed him his paperwork & instructioins and told him to go take care of it. Most of these kids will be piloting vehicles (under supervision) in the next couple of months. Maybe it's time to start cutting the apron strings?

On the drive over here, I started thinking about the impending start of school. How it means that fall is approaching swiftly. Of course I love fall. I love that it's apple season soon, followed by pumpkins and crunchy leaves and Halloween and crisp air and OHMYGOD I literally started tearing up.

I just love so much that the first day of school means that fall is so close. I love new school supplies and new school clothes and everything is shiny & new, ready for a new year.

I am so excited about planning for fall! There are festivals and Apple Hill and pumpkin farms and costume shops and pies and hot chocolate and I CAN'T WAIT!

In slightly less dramatic news, I run my very first ever 5k tomorrow. I'm wavering between excite and nervous. Sometimes more of one than the other. By tomorrow morning, I expect to be in the middle of a full fledged freak out. It'll be fun! Ha ha ha!

Race report to come. Since I'm sure you'll be waiting with baited breath.

OK and I'll also have a snap of how MonkeySee dressed for his school picture. I love his quirky ass so much.
