Today a federal judge in Boston declared Section 3 of the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) uncostitutional.
Section 3 of the law states, in part: "..the word `marriage' means only a legal union between one man and one woman as husband and wife, and the word `spouse' refers only to a person of the opposite sex who is a husband or a wife."
Surely this will not end the issue. I assume that this verdict will be appealed to the Supreme Court. But between this verdict and the pending verdict in the Proposition 8 cases, I think it will not be that much longer before same sex couples have equal rights under the law.
I can't wait.

It's days like today that give me hope. Now for the prop 8 verdict, let's see if that will fall the right way too.
