Admissions of Guilt

You know how, when you're surfing the internets, you click on a thing, and then you click on a thing, and then, pretty soon, you're somewhere you never even knew existed?

So yesterday I ended up finding Active.com. And then I noticed the little side bar, that was already filled out with my zip code (well, the zip code where my DSL routes through, anyway) and had a short list of upcoming events. And then I may have fainted.

When I was conscious again, I promptly pulled up my correct zip code and the full list of events. Yeah, I totally didn't make it past the first page when I discovered this and this. How cool is this?

I really have no idea why this stuff speaks to me so loudly. It completely goes against my totally lazy nature. But there it is. I want to do this. I think it'd be fun.

OK, I kind of take it back. Things like this and this totally make me want to run. Because y'all should know I am a stubborn, cocky, badass hopefull.

As for the Princess Promenade... Well, hell... Can I really turn down all the princess and pink and women-oriented? Because how much fun would that be?

Yeah.

About that.

I'm going to admit something I have never admitted in public voluntarily ever, and have smacked SweetPea when she has admitted it for me.

I have never, in my life, successfully ridden a bicycle.

Yes, I am that lame.

I even have the cutest bicycle ever, that I insisted SweetPea purchase for me that has been sitting out on the back porch for, um, about three years now.

Unfortunately, I am an entirely unreasonable combination of stubborn and chicken. With a healthy dose of totally freaking uncoordinated.

I guess that means I have my work cut out for me. And that I suck.

It's ok, though, because the smaller princess has never ridden a bicycle, either. Now, I know she's all about being a "tomboy" right now, but I'm pretty damn sure I can talk her into going princess with me for a day.

Because I'm cute and she loves me.

I didn't learn to swim until I was an adult. It has nothing to do with coordination and everything to do with finding someone who knows how to teach the skill.

Ooh, I love swimming. I can't swim "correctly", but I don't drown. My grandmother had me in swim classes at the Y for a couple of summers in a row. I miss diving.

As for the bike thing, when most people find out, they have a reaction somewhere along the lines of "omg, what kind of freak are you?"
