Watchtel House - Bits & Pieces

Outside the door of the walk in closet was this:We couldn't figure out exactly where it came out. We think it should have come out here, but we didn't find the other end of the drop:
The Monkeys liked it, too:
Crazy ass dining room:
SweetPea prefers chain drainage to pipe drainage:

Watchtel House - Walk In Closet

When you walk outside the master bedroom, through the nursery, and into the upstairs hallway, this is what's inside the first door, right next to the master bedroom.

Inside of that door was this:

Watchtel House - Master Bedroom

I love these! Built in drawers and cupboards.

Does it make me a total child of the 1980's that I have always loved the glass cube walls?

Here's that shorty closet again. In the reflection, you can see the other shorty closet.

Watchtel House - The Nursery

There were two ways out of the Master Suite - down the stairs, or through this room. Another short closet, which I believe also had extended storage past the "normal" depth of the closet. Also note the built in drawers on the left hand wall, and the window seat.

Watchtel House - Boy's Room

Left Side
Right Side

How cool is this? Built in cubby, desk, bookshelves. Another short closet, but there's a seat or raised platform in there. Also, I love the color scheme, especially given the cold lighting, but that could just be a personal thing.

Watchtel House - Master Bathroom

The Master Suite is what did me in. Look at this tub! A closer shot and, yes, that is two shower heads and a skylight. *drool*

The house is riddled with short closets - you'll see more of them in the days to come. There's one on the wall opposite the sinks, which is why you see the reflection of the tub, even though they're on the same side of the wall. Actually, you can see two closet doors in the mirror. The wood door was on the back wall of the closet with the mirror door and, yes, led to deeper storage within the first closet.

Watchtel House - Kitchen

Here's the kitchen. Outside of the mad cabinet space, you are also seeing two sinks and two cooktops. One gas, one electric with a grill. There is also an oven with a built-in microwave above it (no, it's not two ovens - although we did discuss making it two ovens).

Watchtel House - Family Room

Over the winter, a house on SweetPea's daily commute went up for sale, bank owned. It was cute, with a little plot of land and a barn. As a surprise, she had her grandpa, who is still an active real estate broker at almost 80 years old, take us on a tour. I thought that I would be underwhelmed by the whole thing, and kind of got mad because it would burst my little "cute house" bubble. Little did I know how much we would both love it once we got inside. It was like someone picked into our brains and pulled out all the little things that we love or would require. Often, the things we wouldn't even think to ask for. Too bad that, even bank owned, the little house was way out of our league.

The next few days in daily photo, I'm going to feature shots from the house.

These are the family room. Great room. Party room. What would you call this? I was standing in the same spot for both shots - the room was pretty big. On the other side of the fireplace is another family room, slightly smaller. Huge, huge ceilings. This room is at the farthest end of the house. The house is shaped like an L, so if you look out that sliding glass door, you can see the pool and, beyond that, the kitchen. Also, yes, that's a bar. It has a space for a fridge and a dishwasher.
