On Content & the Problem with Rants

Those of you who have been following my blog for awhile may have noticed the lack of political or venty posts in the last year or so. As contentious as the election was, even I am kind of surprised that I didn't get into it here.

I must confess that I stepped away from venting or ranting here because I have discovered that wallowing in the righteous indignation makes me tired. It wears me out in a way that I was no longer comfortable accepting. I struggle to step away from the things that drag me down, weigh me down, frustrate me. I don't want to feed it anymore.

While I may engage in the occasional vent or rant, I just haven't wanted to dig into it at a level that would make for good blogging.

Of course, that's also meant my blog has largely been photos, reviews, list-blogs, or just plain quiet for extended periods of time.

So I don't know. For awhile now, I've been kind of at a loss as to what to do with this little page. I don't know if I've resolved that, but I do know that I have some content to post for you in the coming days, and some ideas for even more content.

We'll see.

We all have lags, writing blocks and lack of interest. I enjoy photo challenges, it beats figurin out what to write!

I, too, never blogged about the election/politics. It's just too exhausting to dredge up all that disappointment and frustration. I feel those things still, but it seems easier to handle and focus when I don't sit around worrying over it, or writing it out. I don't blame you one bit.
