More Yoga

Sitting in that sweaty yoga class one day in December, we were asked to share with a neighbor what we hoped for in the coming year. Because I had asked for yoga gift certificates, I thought my answer of "more yoga" was a simple one.

Little did I know what the universe had in store for me.

So far this year I have completed a course to become a yoga teacher's assistant*, I am registered for two workshops and pondering a third, I'm about to embark on a four class series in a style of yoga I've never tried**, I've skipped off to a brand new to me studio to enjoy a special birthday edition class with two instructors that I enjoy very much and soon I will be regitering for yoga teacher training.

No way was any of this what I had in mind when I asked for more yoga.

It may not have been very clear in this post, but I've been thinking about yoga teacher training for over a year now. When I looked into it initially, I felt that, given the time and financial commitment, it was a better idea for me to focus on improving my own practice. So I did that and, eventually, it led me to this place, which was offering both the teacher assistant class and the teacher training. Even better, both of these classes fit within what I have to give (financially and time wise^) and, also, are based in the type of instruction that would suit me best for this.

So I'm going for it.

Because I see a destination so clearly, who am I to deny the path that is being laid at my feet?

More yoga.

Because I asked for it.

Because I need it.

Because I can do the thing I am afraid to do.

*I have to assist three classes to get my actual certificate.

**Forrest Yoga

^Yes, this is what I was talking about in this post.
