Picture Post Catsup

Since it's been awhile, I thought I'd ease back into this slowly with a photo blog of some of what's been keeping us so busy in the recent past.

The weekend before last, we went to a carnival at the high school MonkeySee will be attending in the fall.

MonkeyDo playing "Pin the leaf on the vegetable". No, I'm not kidding.

'35 Hupmobile - Isn't that color gorgeous?

The carnival had lots of cool things to do - games to play, things to buy, yummy things to eat. It was a great afternoon and I enjoyed getting a peek into MonkeySee's new school.

It seems Neighbor has been adopted by a neighborhood cat. It's particularly amusing given that she really has no interest in cats whatsoever.

He's been named Issac. Much like Neighbor's nephew of the same name, kitteh Issac likes to follow her around like a puppy. It's super cute. Also, I'd like to note that kitteh Issac came with the flea collar.

Apparently we moved to the midwest or the mountains and nobody told me. We had a wicked thunderstorm last week. It sat right over our house and cut loose with an awesome display of lightning, thunder and pounding rain. I enjoyed it immensely. I took this with my cell phone (which was pretty tricky, let me tell you), but SweetPea ventured out storm chasing and got some really great pictures with the Real Camera.

This weekend, one of SweetPea's best friends was in town. He's a long haul truck driver, and it just so happens that his load took him into town. Which was great, because it was the first time they'd seen each other in quite a few years.

We went to dinner with him out at the truck stop, and didn't leave before SweetPea sat in the rig.

He managed to talk her into not driving off in it, but it was a near thing. Now SweetPea's on and on about driving truck.

After we got back from dinner, SweetPea and the Monkeys unloaded the crap that accumulated in my van from our BBQ on Saturday.

Here's SweetPea and MonkeyDo proving the van's empty.

And, yes, we did back the van up on to the lawn. It made the most sense considering that the load in the back had totally shifted and would probably have fallen out if we'd opened the hatch on level ground. Now get over it.

Someone is going to have to explain this to me.

Are these training wheels for the motorcycle? Or are they so the large load doesn't tip over?

And before anyone says anything about that comment, the person you see there on the bike was riding bitch. That bike was definitely hauling some weight around.

Anywho, the last couple of weeks have seemed like one long adventure. I'm pooped! And it won't be letting up for most of June. I actually used a furlough day today so that I could go grocery shopping and take a nap. Now that's just sad.

The school year is finally over (huzzah!) and MonkeySee is enjoying his four day summer vacation.

Um.

Yeah.

He starts summer school this Friday. It seems that the super-smart-kids program he's in covers so much ground that they don't have time to get in certain district graduation requirements. So he'll be in summer school for physical education. On top of this, SweetPea is signing him up for the football training camp because she thinks it will do him good to learn how to work out properly and to hang out with "normal" kids, instead of just the brainiacs.

MonkeySee may not stop eating between now and fall.

MonkeyDo, on the other hand, will be headed to Horse Camp (for the third year running) this July. Of course she's overjoyed and can't wait to get started. In addition, she'll probably start rolling with the local Roller Derby team's Junior Girls' Derby team.

She's pretty excited.

I've got a lot more to say, and I'll get to it in the coming days.

I hope.
