We've had some pretty significant rain recently, and flooding is starting to become a concern again. Today, I happened to take a drive down the Garden Highway (SweetPea was driving, so, no, I wasn't snapping & driving. This time), and the river level was pretty shocking:

For those of you who aren't local, the Garden Highway sits on top of a levee. One one side is Discovery Park & the American River. On the other side? Apartment and business complexes and houses.
In contrast, here's what the area usually looks like in late spring, early summer:

And here's our ten day weather forecast:

Fortunately, it looks like we're getting a bit of a break until sometime tomorrow. But then the rain is going to start up again. I hope we don't have any problems... But that's starting to look unrealistic.

hey there,
i live here in sactown, and your pics comparing the water level are still shocking....
rain doesn't bother me...but, i really was glad i was able to enjoy the sun today. :)
The water is still crazy high in Discovery Park. I don't mind the rain, but I do worry about flooding. So happy the sun is back! It's time for spring!
