We usher our babies into the world and love them and tend them when they can't tend for themselves.
And sometimes we have the honor of helping someone we love through to the next stage of their journey. We love them and tend them when they can't tend themselves.
We doubt ourselves a thousand times over, question our own better judgement. In the end we do the best we can do and hope that it's right.
Because sometimes all we have is love and hope and trust.
And that is always right.
Thank you for taking this journey for her. Thank you for doing the best you could when none of the answers were easy. Thank you for having the love and hope and trust it takes to honor her in her final days.
I love you.
PS to the rest of you:
My grandmother, who suffered Alzheimer's the last few years of her life, passed away Wednesday morning. While my heart breaks from the loss, I am glad to know that she is, finally, at peace.
Godspeed Grammy.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I work in an Assisted Living community & we have a Memory Care - it is heartbreaking when the person is more towards the end stages of the disease. I'm sure it was hard for all of you to lose your grandma both to Alzheimer's and to death. *hugs*
I am sorry to hear about your grandmother's passing! I hope you find some peace knowing she is in a better place!
Godspeed Grammy.
I'm sorry for your loss.
