Coarse colored or regular sugar
1 cup ice cubes
1/2 cup pomegranate juice
1/2 cup vodka
Dip rims of three martini glasses in water and then sugar. Place ice cubes, pomegranate juice and vodka into a cocktail shaker. Cover and shake well. Strain into martini glasses.
Tip: I was told once to shake until the cocktail shaker gets frosty. I'm not sure if this is actually better, but it's the only way I do it.

Alas, I quit drinking long before it was fashionable to drink anything from a glass with salt or sugar on the rim. Truly, I was a screw-top connoisseur. My favorite brand? Free. Stolen was ok, too. But Free was always best. There are very good reasons why I stopped.
Oh, and I have never had pomegranate, either the fruit or its juice. I suppose that is something I could try, though.
