Open Letter. Again.

Dear Sacramento Bee,

When you are converting an article from the print version to the electronic version, it's a good idea if you make sure to include the photographs referenced in the article.

Further, I understand that things are getting harder and harder out there for mainstream print journalism, but, seriously, can you please hire a copy editor or, at the very least, a proofreader?

Finally, y'all may not agree with the war, and I can't say that I blame you, but these kids are dying over there. Maybe it would be a good idea to treat them with a little bit of respect? There are bad apples in every bunch, but that doesn't mean you always have to parade these guys around like they're war criminals. A little perspective and some compassion might be a good idea when choosing story ideas.

Remember this? Remember how the photographer won a Pulitzer Prize for this?

It's possible that you should reconsider what you choose as a feature or special project.

Perhaps instead of all the finger pointing and blame-mongering you've been doing, you might want to consider posting articles, features, and special projects that are actually helpful.

Just a thought.

Sincerely,
Concerned Reader

The Hartford Courant seems to have the same issues.

They have recently cut more positions...again...Lots of misspellings (that's why I'm not an editor), missing important news stories.
